Secret Key Cryptography
Secret key encryption is also known as symmetric encryption, or private key encryption, the same key is used by the sender(encryption) and the receiver (decryption).

The most widely accepted algorithm for secret key encryption is the Data Encryption Standard (DES). DES is secure en ough because penetration would take several years at a cost of millions of dollars. The SET protocol has adopted the DES algorithm with its 64-bit key.
This concept always confuses me but today with the help of information and figure you have provided I have understood it. Now I wish to learn more about data encryption standard.
